I woke up today to my phone ringing. My good friend and fellow author Jordan P. Barnes had to get up early to beat me to the punch by alerting me to the fact that the Realm of Gods just won the 2024 Indies Today Best Epic Fantasy award!
This was a little shocking, first because the Realm of Gods is a series finisher and not starter (which doesn’t usually help, since you need to have read the previous books to truly appreciate the story) AND I’ve never won an Indies Today award for any of my other work.
I’m really honored. I do think the Realm of Gods is my best work ever (although I tend to think that about my latest book regardless), but I’m so happy that it’s getting this recognition.
What’s more, this award could also be a good sign about how the series will fare in the upcoming CIBAs. My books (including the short story, the Dice of Chaos) are competing in four categories. With this win, my hopes are sky high!
