On April 4, I attended the Chanticleer Author Conference awards banquet with Sabrina, Emmett, and fellow author Maggie Beeler who was also competing for an award (and was a blast to hang out with). I was a finalist in four different categories: Ozma (fantasy), Dante Rossetti (YA), Short Stories, and Series. In the ceremony, they... Continue Reading →
I woke up today to my phone ringing. My good friend and fellow author Jordan P. Barnes had to get up early to beat me to the punch by alerting me to the fact that the Realm of Gods just won the 2024 Indies Today Best Epic Fantasy award! This was a little shocking, first... Continue Reading →
When I launched this site, I included a number of behind-the-scenes articles about games I'd shipped in my career as a designer. However, quite a few I left blank. I intended one day to return and write them up as well. Unfortunately for fans, writing my fantasy books took priority. That said, I put a... Continue Reading →
Here, deep in the Mysterium, I like to keep track of all of my characters from the Chronicles of Chaos, but in my latest sweep, I discovered a few missing. That’s never a good sign. Usually, the only time I lose some of my characters is because I write a new (sometimes a teensy-bit fatal)... Continue Reading →
I look forward to the Readers' Favorite awards every year, mostly because I usually have a book competing in it. Two years ago, I attended the awards presentation in Miami and walked away with two gold medals, one for the Game of War and the other for the Child of Chaos. That was an amazing... I couldn't help it. Since I perform all my own books, how could I resist narrating my newly-released short story, the Dice of Chaos? Well, I couldn't. If you haven't yet read this story (or even if you have), I invite you to close your eyes, start the audiobook, and watch it unfold in your... Continue Reading →
Just last weekend, it was announced that the Realm of Gods won the American Fiction Award for Epic/High Fantasy, making the claim that the Chronicles of Chaos is an award-winning series as true as possible. While the Realm of Gods is up for a few more prizes later in the year, I never know what... Continue Reading →
I just received the changes from my wonderful editor, Samantha Cook, and the final version of the story is now complete. And because it's intended as a reader magnet (i.e. a way to attract new readers into my stories), it's absolutely free! Here is the blurb, if you need more convincing. When destiny calls, will... After completing the Chronicles of Chaos series, I gave myself one last assignment: write a short story that would draw people into my world, offered for free to whet readers' imaginations. I asked myself, "What would new readers and fans both like?" To answer that, I returned to the first four chapters of the first... Continue Reading →
The Realm of Gods Audiobook, the last Audiobook in the Chronicles of Chaos, is now available! When the book was written and finished, that's when the true work began. The Realm of Gods took months of recording and editing to complete, but the end result is here. Finally. Lots of new characters, lots of god-voices... Continue Reading →
